LUMOS ACADEMY FOR PERFORMING ARTS
“Lumos.”
The very choice of this word as our brand name is an ode to our founder’s deep love and lifelong passion for storytelling. Like many of his millennial contemporaries, his journey with theatre and the performing arts began at a young age—when, at just eight years old, he picked up his first Harry Potter book from his school library. From that moment on, he never missed an opportunity to be a part of school or college plays. His journey as a storyteller is documented in detail in the Founder’s Column.
At Lumos Academy for Performing Arts, we firmly believe in the principle that when you choose your passion as your profession, not a single day in life feels like work. Even if a student enrolls with us with the intention of pursuing theatre purely as a hobby, it remains our strong belief that theatre as a pedagogical tool goes far beyond performing for an audience.
Theatre—being the most ancient art form known to humanity—when used thoughtfully and with pedagogical intent, can become one of the most powerful and transformative life skills.
Our curriculum has been meticulously crafted to bring together the methodologies of the Western world and the wisdom of our own Eastern and ancient Indian traditions under one unified framework.
